Meal Programs
LCR helps to provide food for the hungry. We partner with several organizations within our community and we participate in several fund/food raising efforts throughout the year.
We provide food and serve at St. Patrick’s Church and at Living Faith Church. We are scheduled at St. Patrick’s Church on the 1st Thursday of the odd numbered months. We are scheduled at Living Faith Church on the 1st Sunday of the even numbered months. We provide the main course, salads, dessert, and we serve the meals. Our Sunday School students also participate with the meals at one point during the year.
We collect fresh fruit for HALO. The second Sunday on odd numbered months we do a collection of fresh fruit at church. We then have a member deliver this fruit to the residents at HALO.
Our 3rd graders participate in the Souper Bowl of Caring each year. They take charge of collecting soup and funds that are then turned over to the Racine County Food Bank. This fundraiser takes place over a few weeks which then ends on Super Bowl Sunday. In 2018, we donated over 600 cans of soup and raised over $800 for the food bank.
Our Sunday School also participates in a “Turkey Trot” during the month of November. The classes compete against each other to see who can bring in the most non-perishable food items. These items are then given to the Racine County Food bank for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
We continuously collect food for the Racine County Food Bank. We believe that no one should go hungry. We are dedicated to Reaching Out Like Jesus
